Bifurcation Buoy

  • Coloured with Red and Green bands.
  • Indicates that a choice of directions is available.
  • The colour of the band on the top tells us which channel is the main or preferred channel.
  • Along with its colour, its shape may also indicate which channel is the preferred channel.

Bifurcation buoy

  • The colour and shape of the buoy will correspond to each other to give you two methods of identification of the preferred channel.
  • You may pass this buoy on either side when proceeding in the upstream direction.
  • To take the preferred channel keep the buoy on the side which corresponds to its top colour or its shape.
